PHILOSOPHY AND ORIGINS:

The history of the World Management Congress (WMC) dates back to 28-31 December 1980 when the first such a Congress was organized with a view to making the World Citizenry aware regarding the need for bringing productivity through management techniques. Inaugurated by the then Union Minister for Commerce, Steel and Mines, Government of India, Hon'ble Shri Pranab Mukherjee on 28 December 1980, the Congress discussed different emerging issues with the theme "Beginning the Management Decade : 1981-1990" with a view to designing a masterplan paradigm for the coming 20 years for locating a critical path to enter the 21st century and the third millennium.

1980 : The Hon'ble Union Minister for Commerce, Steel and Mines, Government of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurating the 1st World Management Congress in December 1980.

Since then such congresses and conventions have been organized every year in India as well as in different countries with important themes and sub-themes. During the past 44 years more than 15,000 important personalities related to different aspects of management have successfully participated in these World Management Congresses held every year.

1982 : The Managing Director of TELCO, Jamshedpur Shri Sarosh J. Ghandy and Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi during the 3rd World Management Congress held in December 1982.

The World Management Congress 2023 has been organized to be held at Ziro, Arunachal Pradesh under the aegis of the Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University, Arunachal Pradesh with the theme "Optimum Development of North-Eastern Region : Prospects and Constraints".

1984 : The Hon'ble Union Minister for Finance, Government of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee inaugurating the 5th World Management Congress in July 1984.

1985 : The Hon'ble Union Minister for Youth Affairs, Government of India Shri R.K. Jaichandra Singh inaugurating the 6th World Management Congress in December 1985.

1986 : The External Affairs Minister of the Government of India inaugurating the 7th World Management Congress held in April 1986.

1988 : The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Rajiv Gandhi inaugurating the 9th World Management Congress held in December 1988.

1991 : The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao with Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi during the 12th World Environment Congress 1991 held in September 1991.

1996 : The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri H.D. Deve Gowda inaugurating the 17th World Management Congress held in October 1996.

1997 : The Hon'ble President of India Shri Shankar Dayal Sharma releasing the Encyclopaedia of Environment during the 18th World Management Congress.

1998 : The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Shri Inder K. Gujral with Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi during the Inaugural Session of the 19th World Management Congress held in Feb. 1998.

2008 : The Hon'ble President of Nepal Dr. Ram Baran Yadav inaugurating the 29th World Management Congress held in December 2008.

2017 : The Hon'ble President of India releasing the Book titled "The Grandeur of the Upanishads" authored by Prof. Damodar Thakur after the successful completion of different sessions of the 38th World Management Congress held in June 2017.

2018 : The Hon'ble Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Thawar Chand Gehlot releasing "Swachchhta Vishwakosh" during the 39th World Management Congress held in June 2018.

2. He has authored many Books including Encyclopedias and Reference Monographs in the new and emerging areas of environmental engineering, disaster management, sustainable development, peace studies, human rights, intellectual property rights etc.

3. His Books on the life of the Presidents (Shri Ram Nath Kovind and Smt. Droupadi Murmu) and the Prime Ministers (Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Shri Narendra Modi) have been praised by the intellectuals.

4. He is the only person in the world credited to design 55 specialisations in the MBA Degree with detailed curriculum for all the specializations besides the comprehensive study materials running into more than 1,50,000 pages.

5. He is the first person to have launched post graduate level non-formal education in the area of ecology and environment way back in 1980.

6. He is the Founder Chancellor of The Global Open University and the Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University.

7. He has also brought all the 1200+ Universities of India under one single platform under the aegis of "The Educational Standards and Testing Council of India - TESTCOIN" with a view to setting standards in the area of quality tertiary education.

8. He has received more than 55 national and international awards and accolades for his contribution towards distance, open and virtual education (DOVE).

9. He has visited all the important countries of the world and has organized conferences, congresses and seminars in association with other international organizations.

10. As the Speaker of the World Spiritual Parliament, he has been advocating to the United Nations for the establishment of the United Nations Spiritual Forum for World Peace in order to reduce religious intolerance.

11. His appropriate solutions for tackling issues like peacelessness, unemployment, poverty, pollution, faulty educational system and population explosion has been appreciated everywhere.
